On October 2nd, ABC member, Lou Barber ran the London Marathon for her mother, Marion as part of team Macmillan Cancer Support.

In August last year, Marion had an emergency tracheotomy after struggling to breathe and in November was diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer.

Macmillan has been with Marion and her family every step of the way from understanding treatment options, speech and language therapy and psychological support to financial guidance.

In November 2021, Marion received the incredible news that she was cancer free after 12 hours of surgery to perform a total laryngectomy and removal of other tumours.

Having turned 80 this year, Marion has been an inspiration with her strength, courage and determination to fight this devastating disease and live.
Lou managed to raise an amazing £2600 for MacMillan.
