On Friday 16th February, ABC member and ex-Newcastle and England International, Steve Howey, generously gave of his time to raise money for the gym.

Sixty people bought tickets to listen to Steve tell stories about his footballing experiences with gym owner, Andy Burton, taking on the role of compere.

Steve told hilarious tales of his times playing alongside players like Peter Beardsley, Tino Asprilla and Gazza.  Then there were accounts of what it was like playing under managers Kevin Keegan, Ossie Ardilez and Bobby Robson.  Everyone had a fantastic evening…plenty of drinks were bought, pies and peas were eaten but, above all, ABC members had the privilege of hearing first-hand the comedic realities of playing football at the highest of levels during the 80s and 90s.
