On Saturday, July 16th, two members of the ABC Arrows, Emma Hewling and Jamie Robertson embarked on a 55km Ultra around the north-east starting at Derwenthaugh Park.  Only 100 athletes took part in the challenge during heatwave conditions.  The run took in a mixture of forest trails, disused railway lines, motorway and country roads, with challenging inclines rising to 400m at some points.  Despite having experience of marathons and half marathons in the past, this was the longest distance that Emma and Jamie had completed in a single race.  When asked about the experience, Jamie said: “soul destroying…more mentally than physically…completed it though!”  Well done to both.  Can’t wait to see what craziness you’re going to take on next!
