Since ABC opened in 2017 the annual walk has followed the route from Whitby to Saltburn and in the opposite direction, from Saltburn to Whitby…a total of 22 miles.

This year, 32 ABC members tackled the loop around Derwent Water in the Lake District.

Setting off from Keswick the 13-miles walk took in two peaks, Catbells and Walla Crag.

For those in the group for whom this walk was a little too challenging there were alternative routes.  One group, after scaling Catbells took the lakeside walk back to Keswick, whilst a third group tackled half of Catbells then returned to Keswick via the ferry…ice-cream in hand!

Despite the forecast warning of unsettled weather with thunder and lightning, the weather, although a little muggy, was fantastic…particularly in the beer garden afterwards!!

A superb day was had by all.  Another opportunity for those at ABC to spend time with friends and to make new friends.  Above all, it was great to see people helping and supporting each other throughout the day.
