April 2025 marked eight years since ABC opened its doors. When we first opened in 2017, we had two membership options: Standard membership for £27.99 and an All-Inclusive membership for £55. Over those eight years, the membership price has not changed but the service and experience we offer has massively improved.
In 2017, we had just three racks, a basic selection of dumbbells and kettlebells and only a handful of machines. Fast-forward to 2025…we have 5 racks plus potentially another 4 within the rig; we have multiple kettlebell and dumbbell stations; a vast selection of machines and the addition of a mezzanine area for light strength, cardio and mobility work.
In 2017 we had just three classes per week on a Tuesday and Thursday evening and a Saturday morning. Fast forward to 2025…we now have sixteen classes ranging from early morning MetCon Express, to lunchtime classes, evening MetCons and two Strength Clubs a week! In 2017, we started with a membership base of 28…now we have over 200 members.
There has always been a commitment to investing money from memberships back into the gym to improve and update the kit. This year alone we have added:
- A four-station Primal Strength Cable Machine
- 3 Wolverson benches
- 4kg, 6kg and 20kg kettlebells
- 10 x Nike Grind dumbbells (2-10kg) and 12 x Nike Grind weight plates (5, 10 and 20kg)
- 1 extra Ski Erg…taking our total number to 5
- 1 extra Air bike…taking our total number to 5
- Improved lighting for the mezzanine
- 1 extra set of core bags
